Close-up of one handle. This is a bag made with thick upholstery material. I zig-zagged the top edge, turned it down 1/2 inch, then stitched about 3/8 inch from the top. then I attached the handle. After all handles were attached, I did the top row of stitching about 1/8 inch from the top edge.
Place the handles about 3 inches apart. (I did some of mine 4 inches apart to start with and the handle seemed to wide and short.)
