Sewing School Bags for Lutheran World Relief
If you want to make a small flat bottom to the bag, now is a good time to do that. (But this is not necessary. Skip if you like. But if you do “flatten” the bottom, make it small, not more than one inch.)
I’m not sure I can describe that process easily with words, but can show you quickly. Turn the bag inside out.

Place your hands on either side of the corner.

Now grasp the sides of the bag and pull out.
Pin about 1/2 inch down from the top, then stitch. Voila - a small flat bottom!
